Helping others enjoy Thanksgiving

Thank you everyone who helped out.. we where able to feed 62 people who really needed it this Thanksgiving. Also to the many others who have been helping in donations. Our next big event will be Jan. 2010 where our goal is 400 families. We have so many people leaving clothes, and food items. I really need to stress that if you would like to help remember those who we are helping have not water, or power in thier homes, so think wisely of the items you will be leaving..mircowave popcorn, jello, cakes, and cornbread doesn't really work with out power. 99 % percent of these people have no stoves, refrigerators and cook on fires outside. Also it does take us time to go thought the food items looking for experation dates so please check them before you bring them. Think Camping toliet paper, beans, rice, cooking oil, bars of soap, salt, sugar, instant coffe, tuna fish, tomato sauce, galons of water, plastic cups, paper plates and kids love friutloops, and corn pops as a snack food in a cup. Here are some pictures of our "Reef Thanksgiving Helping the widows and single parents

Helping Rocky Point Build A Better Future

Hi RV’ers,
Well the time for vacations is coming. Many of you will be revisiting us here at The Reef RV Park and another places for the Fall 2009 Season. I wanted to share with all of our readers something very special that we will start in September. We will be working with these organizations listed below to help support Rocky Point and its people. We will be an official location for donations for these great organizations. You may have asked yourself many times what else is there to do in Rocky Point. I keep doing the same thing every time I come down there. So here are some great things to make your vacation even better and meaningful. Why not help Rocky Point grow through the Christian fellowship activities and organizations that take place in our wonderful town.
Here are a few things you can do besides! Just drink and sit on the beach.

Why not visit the Children’s Home, there are more then 30 Children who have only 5
Adults taking full time care of them. If you want more information about the Childrens Home check out this website http://www.esperanzaparalosninos.com/. Many are learning English thanks to those who have come down to help out. Bring food, clothes, blankets, books, or just your smile, it’s something they all need.

Why not help feed the needy there is a great group of people called 2 Fish Ministry who have been doing so much for our town and its people. Why not take the time to come down and see them and help out. Bring food, clothes, or best of all bring your smile and your bible! For more information check out their web page at http://2fishministriesrockypoint.com/Home_Page.php.

Why not visit the prison to help pray for those who are spiritually weak. Many of those who are in prison here speak English and are looking to turn their lives around through the Good News. There are many Christian groups and others who go in groups to bring food, shoes, and their bibles to do study groups. Again there are many of us who go and only speak English so don’t be afraid.

There are also many activities and organization to join and be apart of so ask around. I will be sending out an e-mail soon so people can signup for this fellowship News Letter.

Selling Your Trailer/RV

Hi everyone,
Someone gave me this great idea since there are so many of you who are selling their trailers why not post them here! in the comments area for others to see. If you remember when you sell it to leave a comment so we can remove it. Not so much for me but to save yourself from phone calls about something you have already sold. If you have pictures you can upload them to any image site and show the link in the comment.

Happy RVing everyone!

Violence in Mexico?

Hi everyone,
Many people have ben asking what is it like in Rocky Point and is it safe to travel. The answer is simple YES. I would like to really tell you the facts about what is happing here in Mexico and in Rocky Point. I will start out by letting you know that yes there are problem areas in Mexico just as there are problem areas in the US and other countries. The areas that have been effected are Nogales, some border towns of Texas (not all), Tiajuana and some surround areas of of that city. There are some others but they are so far south from here that I will not go into in this blog. There has been no acts of violence while traviling from the U.S.A to Rocky Point at the Lukeville or San Luis borders. In fact I have many people when they arrive here tell me "Gus all the way here we thought about what the news was saying and other people but, now that we are here it is nothing like that at all... they are really hurting the town of Rocky Ponit for no reason." and others have said "its just another way that the american government is keeping americans in state to help the economy if we spend all our money here in Rocky Point how does the US prosper, it doesn't" For what ever reason I am leaving it up to you our clients to respond here to let others know your feelings good or bad we want to here from you.
One last note here is a "News 13" who arrived to our park during spring Break 2009 to get the responces of the RVers.
